Bowlers’ Day At Denaby.

Denaby 76 for 7    Wath 69

Wath’s low score at Denaby on Saturday would have been even lower had it not been for several fielding blunder by Denaby. As it was Wath were all out before 4-30. The wicket was against fast bowling, and Sam Kennedy was unable to get a wicket. Hargreaves did his best to stop the destructive progress of the other Denaby bowlers till J. Palmer made an excellent catch when the ball was travelling well for the boundary.

Luther Robinson had the best bowling return with 3 for 7. Greenwood took 3 for 18.

Denaby appeared to have an easy thing on with only 70 to get and plenty of time before them, but Hargreaves got to work and their first 6 wickets fell for 34. L. Palmer pulled things round a bit and was batting well when he played into the hands of the watchful Pearce. Hargreaves’s return was 5 for 43. Freddy Pearce did not get any wickets but ‘ fielded well.
