Breach of Colliery Rules

James Dalton, pony driver, Mexborough, was charged on a warrant with a breach of special rule 42 of the Denaby Main Colliery, on 2 March.

Defendant with two others unloose a corf from a train, and rode along an underground road. Their conduct several men and and ponies adding narrow escape from injury.

Dalton absconded, but was apprehended at Lincoln.

He was fined 40 shillings, including costs, or a month’s imprisonment in default.

Mr Hickmott appeared to prosecute.
