Breach of the Mines Act.

Joseph Hale, a lamp carrier, employed at the Denaby Main Colliery, was dealt with as a first offender being released on promising to be of good behaviour for having infringed special rule 85 of the Coal Mines Regulation Act by improperly using a signal.

On the September defendant gave four rings on a signal the result being that train of corves was started along an incline.

Mr. Hickmott, who prosecuted, stated that the practice was a very dangerous one.
