Breaches of Colliery Rules at Denaby.
Joseph Hale, pony driver, was charged with a breach of special Rule 90 by riding on an underground road on July 2nd, at Denaby Colliery.
Defendant pleaded guilty.
William Soar proved the case.
Defendant now said he did not think he was doing wrong in riding.
Fined 5s. and costs.
Edwin Prendergast, Henry Sunderland, and George Fretwell, pony drivers, for a similar offence on June 30 were fined five shillings and costs each.
Mr Hattersley defended.
Mr Hickmott said the defendant Sunderland and Prendergast at school daylights out of that they would not be seen when the calf, and the other defendant had put his light out altogether and was in the dark.
Mr Soar proved the case.
Mr Hattersley said the defendant pleaded guilty to riding, and they expressed to him, their sorrow for having done it. He argued that there was no great danger in what the defendants did.
