Captains Game for former Denaby halfback for Huddersfield against Arsenal

Eddie Boot, former Denaby United halfback would have delighted his old Tickhill Square “fans” by his performance for Huddersfield Town against the Arsenal at Leeds Road, on Saturday.

He played a real captains game. His clearances were clean, and Huddersfield scored their second goal from one of his powerful long free kicks.

It is a good many seasons since Eddie was at Denaby – he is almost reaching the veteran stage – but he looks as fit as a fiddle.

He has filled out somewhat since his Denaby days, but he has an air of confidence which comes with more than 10 seasons of regular First Division Football.

Incidentally star of the Ulster attack on Saturday was Thrybergh born inside right Nightingale
