Choral Society on the Wane
The interest of many members of the Choral Society has appeared to be on the wane during the last few weeks, and I’m given to understand that there is no further improvement to record.
To say the least of the matter that I possibly can, is to the effect that unless they begin to be more regular in their attendances, and take greater interest in the rehearsals, there is every probability of the work in hand being abandoned.
I happen to know that Mr Moses Soar, the conductor, is making great personal sacrifice in trying to bring this society up to a respectable standard in the musical world, but unless his efforts are supported by the vocalist themselves, then his endeavours will be in vain.
It is to be all, therefore, that the careless members will arouse themselves, and attend the next practice, which will be on Tuesday next in the New Schools .
