Colliery Accident at Denaby Main.
Alarming and Singular Mishap.

This morning about 10 o’clock a large piece of the flange of the pulley which is used for drawing coal at Denaby Main Colliery broke, throwing the rope off.

The piece which flow off was about five feet long, and dashed down the rails. During drawing operations there are always several lads and men under the wheel, but when the accident occurred none were there.

The pit set down, and the men down the pit were got out by the cupola shaft.
