Concern about Head Infestations
“Tremendous Lists” at Conisbrough

Miss DL Hillborne, headmistress of Conisbrough Northcliffe Girls Modern School, expressed concern about head infestations at last night’s meeting of Mexborough Secondary School Governors. She said every time the nurse visited the school she had a “tremendous list” of children infected.

Miss Hillborne said she also received letters from parents asking her to move their child who might be sitting next to an infected child.

“And I don’t blame them,” she added.

Miss Hillborne said the trouble was that parents of children concerned did not go to the clinics to get the preparations prescribed.

Divisional Education Officer Mr E.B.Stockdale said he felt that those cases in which parents were not trying should be excluded from school and then cases taken for non-attendance.

It was decided that Mrs Stockdale should take up the matter with the acting Divisional Medical Officer.
