Library And Smallpox

The Council are to establish a local library under the County Council Circulating scheme Mr H Crowther, head teacher of Morley Place School and a keen student of literature has been appointed librarian.

The medical Officer of health and the sanitary inspector been empowered to appoint a nurse for visiting smallpox contact if in their opinion such a step becomes necessary.

Smallpox has topped the 250 mark. Last week there were 17 cases and up to Wednesday of this week there have been 14 more.
