The widening of the low road opposite Burcroft Hill has now been completed, and the improved width of the road presents an agreeable contrast to the previous narrow and dangerous trap to vehicular traffic. The parish and district councils and worthy of the highest commendation for the transformation which is apparent to anyone who previously knew the road.
The local war beliefs committee, at the meeting on Monday night, graciously acknowledge the grant of £2 from the Conisborough comedy company.
Accident – an accident happened to Mr. Newman Brown son of Mr. Chas Brown, Carr Grange farm, Conisborough, on Monday afternoon, when he was driving a horse and dray along Burcroft. The horse shield and threw the unfortunate man under the wheels of the dray, which passed over his legs.
He was carried into the Castle Inn, and Dr Forster attended to his injuries, after first aid had been rendered by ambulance men. He was taking on a stretcher to his home at Clifton Hill, Conisborough and is now doing well.
