Conisborough Notes – Typhoid – Water – Lovely Stinks !

July 1901

Mexborough and Swinton Times, July 19.

Conisborough Notes

I am sorry to hear of further cases of typhoid fever at Conisborough, and that the accommodation at the hospital is tested to the uttermost.

Oh ye Councillors !

Why do ye delay the water scheme so long?

Surely a plague is very near you, and if immediate action is not taken, it will be a sad time for all.

The River and Canal are, I think at the present time worse than they have ever been, and almost unbearable.

For a lovely stink on a lovely river come to Conisborough.

The heat at Conisborough yesterday registered 85° in the shade
