Conisborough Notes

We shall have quite a busy Sunday. The village feast will be duly kept. Lamb and new potatoes, ducks and green peas will, no doubt, be upon many tables.

The annual demonstration of the friendly societies, Fire Brigade, Yorkshire dragoons etc., will parade the town, and a sacred concert will be held in the three acres field near the board School.

Our friends from Lancashire are coming over on their botanical ramble in the cliffs. It is marvellous what a variety of plants and flowers they gather for botanical purposes.

Trip to Scarborough

I am told that there is a great demand for the tickets for the trip to Scarborough next Monday. The train leaves Conisborough at 6.55 a.m. and will arrive in Scarborough about 9.30.

The return train leaves at 6.50 p.m. The day tickets (3s 6d) can be had from Mr Hill or Mr Greathead.

I understand that a special carriage will be reserved for the Conisborough Parish Church party.
