Conisborough Wounding Case

At the Leeds Assizes, on Monday, James Dalton, 25, Stoker, and Annie Dalton, 23, were indicted for having feloniously wounded Thomas McHale, with intent to do him previous bodily harm, at Conisborough, on the 22nd November

Mr Perks prosecuted.

It alleged that on the date mentioned the prisoners visited McHale’s house, and had some drink there. After a little time the two men got to words, and the male prisoner struck McHale in the chest with a knife, inflicting a wound.

Acting upon her husband’s instructions, the female prisoner threw something at McHale.

Dalton was found guilty and sentenced to 6 months hard labour

The female prisoner was acquitted.
