Conisbro’ Burial Board.

December 1889

Sheffield Independent – Thursday 12 December 1889

Conisbro’ Burial Board.

A meeting in connection with this board was held on Tuesday night, the Vicar (the Rev. G. Wood) presiding.

The question of securing a site for burial purposes was discussed. It was stated that there was extreme difficulty in this respect, owing to the springs and the rocky nature of the ground.

The members remarked upon the places visited in various parts of the township, and of the drawbacks encountered, and it was said to be a vexed question as to which spot was most eligible for the purposes in view.

Messrs. Chambers and Appleyard were deputed to report further on the matter at the next meeting.
