Conisbrough Clerk is chosen

Conisbrough Clerk is chosen.

Mr Eric Trevor Mellor, Clerk to Market Harborough Urban Council, has been appointed Clerk to Conisbrough Urban Council and will succeed Mr R.F.Edwardson who is leaving the district to take a post in County Durham.

Mr Mellor (34) eight Fellow of the Corporation of Secretaries, holding the Diploma of Public Administration gained at Sheffield University has served at Market Harborough, Leicestershire for the past four years.

Married with two children, he previously served with Sheffield Council, Aldridge Urban Council (Staffordshire) and Ripley Urban Council (Derbyshire) when he was deputy clerk.

It is believed that Mr Mellor originated from the Sheffield area.

He will probably take up his duties at Conisbrough early next year. The appointment was made at a special meeting of the Council on Tuesday
