Conisbrough Councillor’s Son Killed in Crash

Howard Leigh Cheshire (25) only son of Councillor and Mrs. George Cheshire, of “Lamour,” Old Road, Conisbrough was killed in a road accident in Tetsworth (Oxfordshire) on Saturday.

Mr. Cheshire, a National Serviceman in the R.A.F., has been married only a short time. His home address was 1 Hutchinson Road, Rawmarsh. He was stationed in Oxfordshire.

In November this year he was t hoping to take his final examination to qualify as a public health officer and hoped to join a local council as such.

His wife is a teacher on the staff of Rawmarsh Rosehill Junior Mixed school.

Mr. Cheshire was a former pupil of Conisbrough Morley Place School and Conisbrough Northcliffe school. His father, Coun. George Cheshire is a member of Conisbrough Urban Council and a School’s Welfare Officer.

Mr. Cheshire was riding a motor cycle and was in collision with a car. The driver of the car was not injured.
