Conisbrough Nurses Success

Three nurses at Mexborough Montagu hospital heard on Saturday that they had gained their state Register Nursing Certificates. They are Miss Joyce Pryce, of Mexborough; Mrs. Jesse Brown, of Swinton; and Miss Audrey Tuffrey, of Conisbrough.

Miss Tuffry received notification of her success only a few days after her 22nd birthday. It is also a wedding “present.” She is to marry Mr. Alan Millwall, of Burton on Trent, at Conisbrough Parish Church in September.

Daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Tuffrey, of Daylands Avenue, she received her early education at Conisbrough at Morley place infants and junior school and later on at Conisbrough modern School.
Later she worked in the tailor’s shop in Doncaster. At 17, she left this employment to go nursing and fulfil a childhood ambition. MissTuffrey’s father is a painter and decorator at Doncaster infirmary.
