Wesley Youth Club Visit to London

24 members and leaders of the Wesley youth club spent a very enjoyable four days in London last week with London at its best in the spring sunshine.

The party stayed at Friendship House, run by the Teleclub pardrae, the rev Douglas Griffiths, sleeping on camp beds and eating in the house canteen this proved to be an ideal centre, through the friendly atmosphere of the place and also because it was ten minutes journey only from Westminster and also not much further in the other direction to Battersea form fair.

There was a program for each of the four days so that a great number of the memorable places in London were visited. The highlights of the tour were visits to the house of Parliament under an expert guide, a tour of the Methodist missionary Society headquarters, a BBC live broadcast on Tower Hill, a boat trip to Richmond, and the BBC live broadcast of 20 questions.

After the broadcast members of the youth club had a lively conversation with Richard Dimbleby. Jack Train and Kenneth Horn and autographs were generously given all-round.

Members of the party were Josie Winters. Margaret and Jean Towers. Anne Wilkinson, Christine Saville, Angela Thompson. Wendy and Jill Birdsall, Lorna Redfern John Law, Teddy Hully, Alan Smith, Howard Thompson, Peter Soles, Davil Croxall, David Shacklock, Tommy Dunneand Douglas Parry.

The leaders were Miss D Smith, Miss A Fleetwood, Miss M Brook, Mr J. W. Townsley, Mr. A Westby and the Rev E. Kendall
