Conisbrough’s “Moth Eaten” Look

Full of Derelict Buildings, Says Vicar

Asking a question at Wednesday’s meeting of Conisbrough and Denaby Old People’s Welfare Committee meeting, the vicar of Conisbrough, the Reverend G.F.Braithwaite, commented on the “moth-eaten” look of Conisbrough.

Mr Braithwaite asked what progress had been made for the provision of all people’s bungalows in the centre of the village.

He said “It would improve the moth-eaten look of Conisbrough, where there are open spaces full of derelict buildings, if bungalows were built there instead of using good farming land on the outskirts of the village.”

The Secretary (Mr R.F.Edwardson) said that the Council had applied to the West Riding County Council for a grant towards the building of bungalows in March gate in the centre of the village
