Conisobrough Man Missing
Feared Drowned

John Martin, aged 47, glasshand, employed at Messrs Kilner brothers, Conisbrough residing at 10, Trent Terrace, Low Road, Conisborough has been missing since Tuesday morning, and there very grave reason to fear that he has been drowned in the canal.

He left of his work at 5 o’clock on Tuesday morning, when he had gone his wife noticed that he had left his spectacles behind, which was unusual. She followed him out of the house, but failed to find him.

However his coat and cap were discovered on the canal bank, as he failed to turn up at work. The police were notified and proceeded to drag the canal in the vicinity of the spot when the coat and cap were found.

Up to Thursday the searche proved unavailing. Martin was in good health and spirits and so far as is known was in no trouble.
