Cruelty To A Pit Pony.
Denaby Driver Sent To Prison.
At Doncaster to-day, Henry Lee, pony-driver, of Denaby, was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment for cruelty to pony in the west district of the Cadeby mine on August 28th.
Defendant used a whip with a wire strand, the evidence showing that he thrashed the pony with great severity, cutting it in several places.
Defendant had been convicted for a similar offence in June of last year.
