Shirebrook’s Sensational Finish to Beat Denaby.

There was sensational finish at Shirebrook’s home encounter with Denaby United last night. Taking the field without Binns and Boston, who were injured at Gainsborough, Shirebrook were not impressive either in attack or defence. Their shooting lacked sting, and the side was disjointed.

15 minutes off the end Shirebrook were losing by 2-0.

Then they recovered in a most remarkable manner and in five minutes they had scored four goals, adding a fifth a few minutes later.

Hopkinson scored the first from a free-kick, Mitcham added the second from Miller, Heald the third, Hopkinson the fourth, and Heald the fifth. The last three goals came from Mitcham’s centres.
