Denaby bid to remedy penalty “habit”

Denaby United have lost the services of one of the best defenders, hard tackling, enterprising right half Bryn Price.

Welshman Bryn, who has been with Denaby for a season and a half, came at the same time as player manager Harry Hough. Both played with Barnsley together.

“He has asked for his release and been given it,” said Harry this week. “We are sorry to lose him, but the reason is financial.” Bryn is believed to be moving to Goole.

Bymoving Price will not be in line for the job nobody wants at Tickhill square, that of penalty taker. Missing spot kicks is developing into a habit with the Denaby team, and Harry Hough is out to put a stop to it.

Special practice

Two weeks ago, although they beat Retford at home, a penalty was missed, and a week later a penalty again missed at Worksop, should have been the means of saving a point.

Hough believes it might have brought them two. “We were playing well to then, and it would have put us in a winning position, if the chancehad beentaken. I’m sure we would have gone away clear after that,” said Hough.
