At Sheffield: Denaby Collegiate drew

Denaby and Cadeby drew with Sheffield Collegiate at Abbeydale Park. Collegiate, who were at the wicket for two hours 38 minutes, declared at 192 for 8 immediately after A. H. Cornell had scored an un-defeated 50.

Denaby, who were left with two hours seven minutes to get the runs, replied with 148 for 6.

In the ideal setting of Abbeydale on an ideal wicket, the batsmen were definitely on top and useful Collegiate scores came from J. C. Barber (38), Mark Barber (38) and K. A. Wilson (24), and for Denaby, F. Roberts scored 34, G. Shephard 26 not out, K. Bacon 19, R. Howson 19 and W. Hawke 17.

For Denaby, F Turner took 2 for 34, J. Bullard 2 for 42 and E. Robinson 4 for 33, M. Barber had 3 for 41 for Collegiate.
