New Captain Just Misses His 50

Shiregreen 166    Denaby & Cadeby 141 for 6

Shire green knocked up a useful 166 in their first game of the Yorkshire Council season against Denaby and Cadeby, the visitors replying with 141 for 6 wickets.

New captain Graham Burdett was again top scorer and was unlucky to be bowled at 49 by Corey. J. Ross scored 35 and G. Myers 28 in the home total. F. Dobbs had five for 64 and T. Cory four for 44 for Denaby. N. Oakley played a grand innings of 42 not out for the visitors and McDonald scored 21 and Ellis 22.

Shiregreen’s best bowler was Jim Myers (3 for 44.)
