Thorncliffe 123 for 6       Denaby 168 for 2    

Thorncliffe’s match with Denaby was twice interrupted by rain. Denaby were given a good start by Ronnie Howson and F. Roberts, who put on 66 runs for the first wicket the second wicket produced 32 runs, then W. Hawke joined Roberts and the pair took the total to 168 for two before the declaration. F. Roberts was not out 74 and W. Hawke not out 29.. Larson made 36 and C. Carly 16.

Thorncliffe lost a wicket with 21 runs on the board and the fifth wicket fell at 35. A six wicket stand put on 48 valuable runs and W. Sayles and R. K. Toussaint got together batted Time out, Thorncliffe closing with 123 for six (H. Whitten 42, R. K. Toussaint not out 24. T. W. Sayles not out 24. T. Bottomley 23.) For Denaby, H. Newton had three for 23 (at one period he had 2 40.)
