Denaby Canine Show – “Colliery Queen” wins 2 Trophies

“Colliery Queen”
Wins Two Trophies for Conisborough Fancier
Denaby Canine Show.

Two trophies were won by a Conisborough fancier, Mr G.F. Sissons, with his terrier “Colliery Queen” at another of the successful shows held by the Denaby and Cadeby Miners Welfare Canine Society at the Welfare Institute, Denaby, on Saturday.

The cups were the Terrier Cup, for the best any variety terrier, and the Long Dyke trophy, for the best any variety dog, bred, owned and handled by an exhibitor

Three of the four other principal awards went to women:

Mrs D.Eggington (Narborough, Leicester), whose “Little Dott” won the Walton Cup for the best exhibit in the show.
Miss I.M.Willis (Rotherham), whose ” Guelder Vixen,” won the Grocock Cup for the best in the novice radius class.
And Mrs G.Glover (Barnsley), who obtained the Jubilee Cup for the best opposite sex to the best in the show with her “Jalubi Del Ras”

The show was opened by Mr C.J.Pickett, under manager of Denaby Main Colliery, and Mrs Pickett presented the Cups to the winners.

Mr W Holt was again secretary, and Mrs Holt, assistant secretary.
