Denaby Compensation Case.

A compensation claim was made by John Siviter of market Street, Conisborough against the Denaby and Cadeby Main collieries Ltd.

Mr. Muir Wilson, who appeared for the applicant, said on May 19th Siviter was working in the pit, and sustained injurys which resulted in his left arm being broken and subsequently amputated.

The defence was “serious in wilful misconduct” and by consent he was prepared to take an award of £10 from the company with agreed costs, or five guineas without taxation.

Mr. Gichard, for the colliery company assented, a verdict was entered accordingly.
