Denaby Inventors Important Claim

Mr A G Gulliford, of Denaby Main, who has to his credit a number of important inventions, principally for use in mining, has produced an electric lamp which he claims will detect and indicate the presence of firedamp in dangerous quantities.

Such a device as long been looked for by mining engineers.

A satisfactory demonstration was given with the lamp by Mr Gulliford on Saturday at the Mexborough Technical School, to the South Yorkshire Mining Society, were very much impressed by its performance.

The photograph shows Mr Gulliford in his private workshop.
