Denaby Lad’s Trick.

A boy named James Kelley, aged 11, was charged at the West Riding Court, Doncaster, yesterday, with obtaining 3s. by a trick from William Osborne, firewood hawker, Denaby, on Saturday night.

Prosecutor, who sells firewood, and lives at Denaby, was asked by the boy if he could change him 3s. He handed him half-a-crown and sixpence. The lad put hia hand in his pocket, and instead of giving him 3s. he ran away.

He was ordered to receive six strokes with a birch rod.
