Denaby Main Boys
Throw Part of Pit Idle Again

Despite the fact that it is only a week since about 80 pit lads employed at the Colliery were ordered to pay damages at the Doncaster West Riding Police Court for breaches of contract arising out of previous strikes, trouble broke out again yesterday at Denaby Main colliery

20 lads employed in the Parkgate seam, complaining of having to work short-handed, refused to remain at work, with the result that about 50 men had to return home.

Two districts of the pit were effected. The incident occurred about three hours this after the afternoon shift add started.

It is not expected that the trouble will develop. The pit only resumed work on after being idle for nearly a for nine during which time some £7,500 was lost in wages.
