Denaby Main Builder’s Appeal.

The magistrates at the West Riding Quarter Sessions, Wakefield, were occupied for about five hours yesterday hearing an appeal by Ernest Robinson, builder and contractor, Denaby Main, who had been ordered by the West Riding Magistrates Mexborough to pay 5s. a week to a young woman named Emma Alpine, who alleged that ha was the father of her child. She had acted as his housekeeper.

Mr. F. R. D. Wright and Mr. Courts Trotter (instructed by Mr. Gichard, of Rotherham) represented the appellant, and Mr. J. O. Andrews (instructed Mr. Muir Wilson, Sheffield) the respondent.

The Bench dismissed the appeal, with costs.
