Gymnasium at Denaby.

The large room in St Chad’s schoolroom has lately been fitted up as a gymnasium, and the class has been started which meets on Saturday nights for practice.

A number of young men have already joined.

The instruction is given by Mr JW Beal, and the class bids fair to be a great success.

Order of Rechabites.

A branch of the above order, which has been in existence in Denaby for a period of three months, promises to be a most successful venture. The number of members keeps steadily increasing and a juvenile Lodge is also to be started in the course of a few weeks.

Glass Trade.

The time put in by the local hands at the Glass Works still continues to be short and many of the families who depend on this in industry are feeling the pinch of poverty, but nothing has yet developed. We would urge that something should be done as early as possible in the shape of relief.
