Miss Kay
By the marriage of Miss Kay, the children attending Old Denaby School will lose the services of a most efficient and capable teacher.
She has, by a kind and judicious methods of dealing with the little ones, won their hearts, and carries with her into the new sphere she has entered, the love and respect both of parents and children.
Canada
Several families have left Denaby during this last week en route for Canada. In one or two instances the husband and father has been there for a few months and doing well, with good prospects of earning a complaint to say on the rich lands in Canada.
We wish them all a safe and speedy journey to their new home.
Works Visit
The South Yorkshire Mining Students Association, which draws its members mostly from Denaby and District, paid a visit on Saturday last to the East Hecla works of Messes Hadfields Steel Foundry Company Limited at Tinsley.
They were shown over the works, and everything of interest pointed out and explained to them they have also been invited to pay a visit to Messes Hardy’s Patent Pick Coys on September 9th.
These large works will be visited in the morning, and during the afternoon the mining, engineering and electrical sections of the Sheffield University will be kindly thrown open for their inspection, where the Association will also hold their monthly meeting.
The president of the Association is Mr George Farmer M.I.M.E. and the honourable secretary is Mr JW Beal of 3 Braithwell Street, Denaby Main. Either of these gentleman will be glad to hear from anyone who may wish to join such a useful institution.
