Denaby Teacher Retiring.

Miss Ida Stacey, who has taught two generations of many Denaby families during her 38 year service on the staff of the Rossington Street School, is to retire at the end of the summer term.

For practically all the time, Miss Stacey has taught infants, and in many instances as subsequently had charge of the children of her earlier pupils.

This Stacey, member of an old Conisbrough family, who formerly lived at Park Road, recently moved with her sister, Miss May Stacey, to live at Alderson drive, Balby, Doncaster.

Miss Stacey began a career teaching at Cockroft but after a few years joined the staff at Rossington Street, where hundreds of local children have passed through her care, and where she has also seen many members of staff come and go. She has been deputy headmistress for a number of years.

The president headmaster, Miss C.A.Parton, points out that it is intended to make a presentation to Miss Stacey in recognition of her long service at the school, and if any parents of former pupils would like to be associated with this expression of appreciation, they are asked to contact Miss Barton or other members of the staff .
