Denaby Teambuilding

Mr M Taylor, secretary – manager of Denaby United, has begun to build up a side for next season. So far only Clark (right back) and F.Smith (left half) of last season’s team have been re-signed. The latter enters upon his fourth season with the club.

The new recruits include L Cross (outside left) from Edlington amateurs, who assisted the club in the last few games of the season and is 19, weighs 11 stone 10lbs and stands 5’6”, and Lewis Kershaw, a centre forward from Dragon Athletic, and formerly with Goole Town, and is likely to settle last season’s trouble.

In their last game Denaby gave a trial to a promising centre half in A Atter of Askern Welfare, and he has been signed. He’s only 18 but is a fine constructive player and a keen tackler. He stands 5 ft 8 in and weighs 11 stone.

Despite competition from other clubs the signature of Sam Hewitt, a clever inside left from Dinnington has also been secured. He is 22, stands 5 ft 8 in and weighs 11s 7 lbs.
