Denaby United Away Almost Whole Of September

Followers of Denaby United will not have much chance of seeing their team in action until October, for out of the first nine games that have been arranged, seven have to he played away. Even their F.A. Cup-tie with Norton Woodseats away.

Originally for their first game of the season, they had a home fixture with Chesterfield Reserves, who have now joined there Central League, but now have to make the journey to Scunthorpe.

Out of last season’s regular players, only Fleetwood, the ex-Barnsley Inside right  and Happs, another ex-Barnsley player have been retained, while Jake Bellamy, an 18 year old inside left from Dalton Welfare, and Harry Barker, half back, who went to Denaby’s assistance towards the end of the season, have now been signed.

Barker is a younger brother of Jack Barker, the Derby County centre-half
