Denaby Get a Point for Plucky Fight at Barnsley.

Before 1,500 spectators, at Oakwell, yesterday, Barnsley Reserves and Denaby United fought out a fine, fast, and alternating game.

Baines opened the score for Barnsley, and Burkinshaw equalised. Then Spoors got two goals in quick succession for the home team, receiving good passes from Kay and Curran respectively. The old Wednesday back had hard luck in not adding more goals with several firsttime shots. Ballance, with Thorpe out of goal, Page having badly mis-kicked, put on a second goal for Denaby, who were one down at the interval.

Denaby continued their spirited opposition in the second half, and drew level through Brayshaw. Both goals underwent periods of strong pressure, but Denaby, after being twice in arrears, were deserving of the draw.

Result:— Barnsley Reserves 3 Denaby United 3
