Midland League.

Easy Victory for Bradford Reserves.

Bradford P.A. Res 6  Denaby United 1

Scorers. —Bradford – Res: Tomlinson (3), Little (2), and Foxcroft goals. Denaby United: Fitton, goal.

Bradford Reserves routed Denaby United at Park Avenue in Midland League match yesterday afternoon.

The home team gave a trial to Fox croft, young amateur from Leeds, at centre-forward. Bradford pressed immediately the start, and ninety per cent, of the play up to the interval took place in the visitors’ quarter. After many good openings had been missed, Grierson centred, and after Thompson had come out and missed the ball, Little shot into the open goal.

Later Tomlinson ran half the length of the field, and scored a second, after which Denaby had look in, and a shot by Bisiey struck -the upright. A corner was conceded, from which Fitton scored for Denaby.

At half-time Bradford were leading by 2 to 1.

Early the second half, there was a centre by Tomlinson, from which Foxcroft easily scored. Then McClarence got the ball from Grierson, and placed it across the front of goal for Tomlinson to score the fourth.

Bradford kept up the pressure, and Tomlinson completed the hat trick by a shot at close quarters from a right-wing centre. Clarke, the home goalkeeper, had a penalty given against him for holding Briggs, but smartly saved the subsequent shot.

Bradford again broke away, and Little scored the sixth and last goal. Bradford thus won by six goals to one.

Denaby United, it should be added, played English Cup-tie on Monday, and was their fourth game in six days. They were a jaded lot, and Bradford found them easy victims.
