Denaby United 1. Bradford Reserve 3

At Denaby, before 1,500 spectators, in dull weather, on a heavy ground.

Bradford immediately assumed the aggressive, and Manning gave Thompson a rare handful with a good shot, the latter clearing well. The visitors maintained the pressure, and Thompson had again to save, this time from Tomlinson. After this, Denaby put in some good runs, but Peters missed’ an easy chance of scoring from a centre from Stubbins. Bradford again attacked, but though their forwards were clever, they were ineffective. Denaby played with great dash, and thirty minutes from the start Tufnell scored from a centre by Stubbins.

The visitors replied spiritedly, and the Denaby defence was severely tested. In a melee Little equalised for Bradford.

Half-time:—Denaby United 1, Bradford 1.

Restarting, Denaby were the first to press but Bradford were by no means behindhand, and play had been progress but ten minutes before Little put them ahead with a good shot.

The latter player was a clever factor in the Bradford attacks. Denaby Main never gave over trying, and worked up several good attacks, but could not get a scoring opening. Five minutes off time a good individual effort by Tomlinson resulted in him notching a third point for the visitors.

Result: Bradford Reserve 3 goals. Denaby United 1 goal
