Poor Display – Yet Denaby Win
Denaby Utd 3 – Stocksbridge 1
Denaby United terminated their home engagements on Saturday by defeating Stocksbridge 3-1. Denaby might have reached double figures but were thwarted by Butcher, the visiting goalkeeper, who showed remarkable judgement.
At one period it appeared as if Stocksbridge were going to win but a simple Denaby goal brought about their undoing.
Denaby scored in the opening stages, FLEETWOOD netting with a good cross shot.
Despite repeated Denaby attacks, Stocksbridge appeared to be playing the better football. Midway through the second half ARDRON added a couple of goals, BROWN replying for the visitors.
