Denaby Just Beaten.

Lincoln City 1 Denaby United 0

Denaby United were beaten a solitary goal, but they played a dashing and smart game. The football of a sparkling order, and it was declared all round at a better contest has not been on the Sincil Bank ground.

For his first 20 minutes there was no holding the Denaby team, only a sterling defence preventing them scoring.

Gradually, however, Lincoln got into their stride  and the game ruled fast and furious to the conclusion.

It was in the latter half that Lincoln asserted their superiority, but the occasional visit Denaby paid to the Lincoln quarters were always dangerous, and Ball had hard lines when he hit the upright. Kelly played a great game for Denaby at half. He too wing men, Lowe and Ball, were undoubtedly the best of the forward line; Welsh and Banner, the backs, worked hard, especially Banner, who always had foster well measured. Hancock was a good custodian, though it is questionable, if you had not left his charge whether Langham would have scored.
