Denaby and Boston in Dogged Struggle.

Forwards’ Poor Display.

Denaby United 0, Boston Town 0

Judging by the poor gate at Denaby on Saturday the majority of the supporters must have feared that the result of the match would be something like last year, for at home Denaby were defeated by 2-1, and at Boston they lost by four clear goals.

On the run of the game Denaby should have just won, but the finishing of the home forwards was weak, and many chances were thrown away.

The home team presented a strange appearance, Fawden and Brayshaw were missing from the forward line. Fawden, it is regrettable to learn in not making anything like a good recovery from his kick at Monckton, whilst Brayshaw was off with an injury to his thigh. This brought Picknett to inside right. Windle, the left half, who has put up some sterling performance this season was brought to inside left, so that of the original line we had Cooper only. Burkinshaw filled the centre-forward position, but his display was anything but satisfactory.
