Wednesday Reserve Beat Denaby.

Sheffield Wednesday Reserve 1  Denaby United  0

That only one goal should be the production of the game between Wednesday Reserve and Denaby United must not be accepted as representing the run of the game.

Wednesday had fully three-parts of the game. Slavin was easily the best back on the field, while Stringfellow can honestly lay claim to such a distinction forward.

Tayles, in the Denaby goal, showed an exceptionally plucky and clever defence, but was very lucky to have only one goal registered against him. Caterer was not so sound usual, though he improved greatly towards the end of the game, while in the halfback line Taylor was most effective.

Taking the Wednesday front line a whole it was good, Hamilton, Cooke, Napier, and Bolland, together with the forward already mentioned, giving almost a good a display as one could wish to see. Bolland scored Wednesday’s goal

In goal Davison played with any amount of confidence and success.
