Denaby Woman Assaulted

“Record” Black Eyes

Aleysins Carmody, a miner of Conisbrough was summoned at Doncaster on Tuesday by Margaret Lucas, married woman, or Rotherham for assault on February 22.

Mr WL Crawford prosecuted said defendant gave complainant “the worst two black eyes it has been my misfortune to see.”

Defendant struck complainant several times, got a raise and spend the cut the throats of complainant and her three children.

Defendant’s mother came in and stopped him.

Complainant and one of the three children gave evidence.

Defendant pleaded provocation and denied any serious assault stop Mrs Lucas got his thumb in her mouth to get away he gave an approach. He never had a razor defendant belittling not take complainant and he took this advice. Complainant was drunk.

John Carmody, defendant’s brother gave evidence.

Defendant was fined £5 and bound over.
