Determined to break his Neck.

At Doncaster, on Monday, Joe Green, castrator, Clifton, near Conisborough, was summoned for being drunk while in charge of a horse and cart.

The defendant did not appear, but superintendent Gregory produced a letter from him offering to abide by the order of the magistrates.

PC Harrison, stated that on Saturday night, the fifth inst, at 11.30 he met Green driving a horse and trap, and leaning forward very much over the horse.

Witness stopped him, and foundhim very drunk. He was locked up, but shortly afterwards let out.

Defendant had been thrice convicted on similar charges, and also for other offences.

The Mayor said this case appeared one of an extraordinary nature, and a fine of 40 shillings and costs would be inflicted, in default of distraint one months imprisonment.
