Drunken Conisboro’ Mother

Fines and cautions at the police court are no deterrent to Emma Powell, married, of New Conisboro’, who was charged with being drunk in charge of a child on Saturday week.

She had been fined for a similar offence since January.

On the date in question P.c. Barnes saw the woman on the street. She was staggering from one side to the other, and it was a wonder that the 17 months old baby she was carrying was not thrown to the ground.

The officer saw her home and told her she would be reported.

She replied “It’s worth it.” Emma, who did not appear, was fined 7/6 and costs.
