Ellis Robinson – Brilliant Off Spinner

Here is Ellis Robinson, the South Yorkshireman from Denaby, whose brilliant off spinners sent Kent on their way at Leeds this week, and helped Yorkshire in a great victory after a rain delay.

Robinson, who now lives at Conisborough, had already stolen the mornings limelight like it hitting a glorious six onto the roof of the grandstand ( 15 in one over from Lewis) but there was more to come.

To complete a handsome achievement of six for 42, he took a hat-trick of wickets, dismissing Chalk, Foster and Harding with successive deliveries.

And he clean bowled all three!

The last Yorkshire hat-trick was by Leyland against Surrey at Bramall Lane in 1935. Nine years ago Emmett Robinson had a hat-trick against Kent.
