Fluorescent lighting has replaced old-fashioned globes at Conisbrough Morley place school. The change follows the rewiring of the building during the summer. There are now electrical points in all classrooms and children will no longer have to “evacuate” to the dining hall for film shows on the school projector.

A new television set supplied by funds raised by the children and staff, comes into operation this month. Programs begin on September 20th.

The headmaster, Mr. C. M. James, commented, “we shall have to be selective about the programs, shows in those which are of some value and discarding those dealing with subjects we can tackle better ourselves.”
