Fatal Accident – Lorry Collision

Fatal Accident.

A Conisbrough man, Sidney Barber (37) of 7, Barnsley Avenue, was fatally injured in a lorry collision on Tuesday evening at about 6.15 in Doncaster Road, Conisbrough.

Barber, who was driving a lorry, owned by Messes Ward and son, of Swinton had been proceeding from Doncaster and at stop when another lorry, owned by Messes tenants, Brewers and driven by Wilfred Joseph Leach, of Sheffield, collided with Barber’s vehicle.

Barber was taken to Doncaster infirmary, but was dead on arrival, having sustained a fractured skull.

Another lorry afterwards ran into the two stationary vehicles, but no further casualties were caused.
